The influence of extruded grain feeds on the productivity of cows of different genotypes

Abstract
This article examines the impact of extruded grain feed (corn, barley) supplemented with cottonseed meal and soybean meal on milk productivity in cows of different genotypes. On most farms in Kyrgyzstan, excessive amounts of compound feed, particularly untreated corn, barley, and wheat, are required to compensate for the deficiencies in many nutrients and, naturally, to some extent, improve cow productivity. As a result, the structure of the feed ration is disrupted, and the animals' bodies are unable to fully process the nutrients in grain feed due to the "strong" structure of the grain feed. To this end, we conducted research to develop new compound feed recipes using extruded grain and to study their impact on milk productivity. The obtained research results showed that the use of extruded grain (barley, corn with the addition of soybean and cottonseed meal to the main diet has a definite effect on milk productivity. Thus, in Alatau cows, when fed extruded grain with the addition of the above-mentioned meals, milk productivity increased from 2.2 to 2.4 kg of milk with a simultaneous improvement in milk fat content by 0.05 and 0.18%. In Holstein-Friesian cows, respectively, by 2.4-3.0 kg of milk and by 0.11-0.18%. The study found that cows of both breeds improved the digestibility of nutrients in grain feed, which is confirmed by an increase in productivity.
