Issues of ecological impact of irrigation works and development of new lands in the steppe region

In this article, during the rule of the Russian Empire, the digging of new ditches, the development of new lands, especially desert areas, farming on newly acquired lands, the ecological impact of excavated canals and acquired lands, the issues of erosion of the banks of the "Emperor Nicholas I" canal are analyzed based on the materials of the "Turkestan Collection" done.
