The growth of anti-erosion forest plantations with pine, larch, birch and spruce on steep slopes of the Arsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan, 20 and 15 years old, was studied at two sites. It has been established that on both studied sites stable protective high-productive phytocenoses are formed, fulfilling the ecological function of oxygen generation and carbon storage. Pine has the best growth on both sites, birch is slightly inferior to it, larch, as an introduced species, is slightly behind in growth. The best conditions for growth of tree species are in the middle part of the slope.
