In a modern economy focused on low-carbon trends, it is possible to achieve sustainable development through an effective assessment of the main object, namely natural capital, which makes it possible to form natural solutions aimed at reducing climate risks and threats as a result of the anthropogenic impact of economic processes on the environment. The concept of natural solutions has spread amid increasing attention to the problem of climate change, primarily in the context of recognizing the role of ecosystems in storing and absorbing CO2 in order to mitigate climate change, that is, the role of mitigation. An important advantage of natural and climatic solutions is the economic advantage expressed in their lower cost compared to technological solutions for carbon sequestration. The purpose of this study was to analyze methodological approaches to the economic assessment of natural and climatic solutions, which are complex practices with consumer (market) and non-consumer (non-market) values aimed at protecting, restoring and sustainable use of natural ecosystems. The article presents an algorithm, the advantages and disadvantages of the main methodological approaches to the economic assessment of natural and climatic solutions are formed. The main problems of their application and the factors influencing this process are outlined.
