The role of administration in animal welfare is pivotal. Administrative bodies are responsible for framing laws, creating rules, and ensuring their effective implementation to safeguard the health, safety, and dignity of animals. In India, animal welfare is supported by institutional mechanisms such as Animal Welfare Boards, veterinary care units, and law enforcement agencies including the Police and Forest Department, which investigate cases of cruelty and illegal practices. These boards and institutions provide vaccinations, preventive health care, and routine check-ups for livestock, thereby promoting both animal and human well-being. This work concludes that legislation and strict enforcement are crucial to preventing cruelty and neglect. Awareness campaigns must be integrated alongside administrative actions to educate people about the significance of animal welfare, the rights of animals, and the broader importance of nature conservation. Only through a combined effort of law enforcement, health care, and public awareness can animal welfare goals be effectively achieved. Ultimately, the administration’s proactive and responsible role is essential in protecting animals and sustaining harmonious human- animal coexistence.
