This study explores the optimization of operational efficiency and food safety through the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in smart food processing systems. Employing a quantitative methodology, data were collected from 200 participants across various food processing facilities using structured questionnaires. The findings demonstrate that 85% of respondents reported improved traceability and 78% acknowledged reductions in food waste facilitated by IoT applications. The results affirm the critical role of real-time monitoring systems and blockchain technology in enhancing operational effectiveness and compliance with food safety standards. However, challenges concerning employee adaptability and cybersecurity emerged as key barriers to successful implementation. The implications of the research provide insights for industry stakeholders, emphasizing the necessity for investment in training and robust cybersecurity measures. This work contributes to the theoretical framework of supply chain management by highlighting the interplay between technology and operational practices within the food industry, ultimately paving the way for future research to address the ongoing integration challenges and promote sustainable practices.
