An experiment was conducted in Sidomulyo, Anggana, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, to investigate the effect of planting time of Purun Tikus (Eleocharis dulcis (Burm.f.) Hensch.) on the growth and yield of rice (Oryza sativa L.) across different planting time levels. A randomized completely block design (RCBD) with fifteen groups was employed to test three treatment levels: Planting Purun Tikus one week before rice planting (w0), planting simultaneously with rice (w1), and planting one week after rice (w2). Experimental variables included the number of tillers and productive tillers, rice yield per square meter, number of filled and unfilled grains, and Purun Tikus population. The treatment of planting Purun Tikus one week before rice planting (w0) yielded the highest production, at 2.046 tons per hectare; the treatment of simultaneous planting with rice (w1) produced 1.993 tons per hectare, and the treatment of planting one week after rice planting (w2) contributed the lowest production, at 1.907 tons per hectare. The number of grains per panicle and the number of filled grains are significantly affected by the timing of Purun Tikus planting. There was a close relationship between the time of planting the Purun Tikus and the measured variables.
