The research studies the chemical, agrochemical, biological and toxicological impacts of non-traditional fertilizers (compost based on sewage sludge and the sawdust of hardwood and softwood trees) on soil and ecological conditions of a recultivated site (a sand quarry). It is indicated that it will be feasible to use non-traditional fertilizers with a 5-year composting period as an ameliorant for sandy soils.
