This article presents the calculation of the volume of a channel basin reservoir on the Chon-Kemin river, accounting for sanitary and technical conditions and sediment accumulation. The study is driven by the necessity to optimize water supply from the river to a mini-hydroelectric power plant's (mini-HPP) diversion canal. Methods include the analysis of water pollution levels, potential algae formation, and silt clogging challenges to determine the design parameters that will ensure efficient and reliable water resource utilization. Results indicate specific strategies for water treatment and silt management that could enhance the operation of the mini-HPP. Conclusively, the study underscores the critical need for comprehensive planning in reservoir design to achieve maximum efficiency and reliability in water usage for energy generation.
