In recent years, the economy of Uzbekistan has been developing at a rapid pace. However, the average per capita income of the country’s population remains significantly below global levels, exacerbated by rapid population growth. Under these conditions, the President of the country has approved the “Uzbekistan — 2030” strategy, which includes relevant goals and objectives. A prominent place in it is given to the development of the agrarian sector, an important feature of which is its significant dependence on water resources. The strategy envisages establishing cooperation with neighboring states in this area. A set of measures for the rational use of water resources based on innovative techniques and technologies is planned. However, the Strategy lacks a dedicated section on the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic and specific quantitative targets for the production of key types of products, which necessitates appropriate additions.
