Smart agriculture is increasingly recognized as a digital transformative to achieving stage of food security and environmental sustainability, particularly through the digital technologies such as IoT, Ai, and remote sensing. However, this research and adoption remain concentrated in high income countries, with limited exploration of youth engagement in Indonesia. This study combines scientometric mapping of global innovative agriculture research with empirical field insights from 90 youth respondents in Indonesia to assess the alignment between academic trends and real-world adoption. Scientometric analysis revealed growing interest in precision agriculture and sustainability technologies but a lack of focus on youth and community-based innovation. Field findings indicated high awareness among Indonesian youth of the benefits of smart agriculture, especially in terms of productivity, environmental, and market access. The result shows that the need for inclusive strategies integrated youth perspective, build local capacity, and participate in rural development. This study contributes to academic and policy discussions on inclusive agricultural innovation ecosystems in developing regions.
