The article analyses the development trends of the main agricultural crops of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. During the studies, the irrigation system in the region, thirty-year climatic features, types of land used in agriculture, the dynamics of changes in cultivated areas and product cultivation in 2012-2022 were studied. In addition, the provision of certain types of agricultural products according to the per capita ration was studied. According to the results of the analysis, it was found that the development of agriculture in the region is much lower than its existing potential. This process has a negative impact on the social and economic development of the studied area. As a result of the reforms implemented in order to reduce the problem of food insecurity in the region, it became known that the cultivated areas of potatoes, melons, and vegetables have increased in the following years. Despite this, cotton and wheat remain in the leading position in agriculture.
