Abstract
The global aging trend has made skin aging a key topic in public health and cosmetic care. Skin aging involves oxidative stress which is driven by intrinsic senescence and extrinsic factors such as ultraviolet radiation. Accumulation of reactive oxygen species reduces skin antioxidant capacity and impairs extracellular matrix remodeling. Antioxidant vitamins have drawn wide research attention for their ability to regulate oxidative balance and reduce reactive oxygen damage. This paper reviews research advances of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E and their synergistic effects in anti-aging. Vitamin A improves aging signs by regulating epidermal turnover and collagen synthesis. Vitamin E exerts anti-wrinkle and anti-aging effects by protecting cell membrane integrity and inhibiting lipid peroxidation. Current studies face challenges such as strong irritation of some active ingredients and low stability of plant-derived molecules. Future research should expand study populations, explore safer alternatives and stable delivery systems. This paper reviews skin aging mechanisms and applications of vitamin A and vitamin E, which provides comprehensive references for anti-aging research.
