The experience and consequences of developing a unified cognitive map of the crop production industry in the digital era, based on integrated technologies for processing information resources, are considered in this article. It is shown that the traditional approach to designing cognitive maps is not suitable for agriculture, since the map includes a huge number of indicators (946), which change their impact on target settings with great dynamics during the year depending on the spatio-temporal heterogeneity of fields, the type of agricultural technologies in accordance with Liebig's law. The multicriterial nature of the target function of production of agricultural products creates additional difficulties, since it must consider, for example, agronomic and economic profit, product quality, ecosystem constraints. A unified digital platform for agricultural management, generated by an attempt to form a unified crop cognitive map, should form the basis for the effective implementation of precision farming and artificial intelligence in the industry. However, for this, the transition in field experiments should be carried out to comprehensive scientific research consistent with the digital transformation of the industry.
