Millennial Generation's Participation and Literacy in Shallot Farming in Bantul Regency

The millennial generation is one of the generations that will continue shallot farming in a sustainable manner. The performance of shallot farming can be improved with the participation of the millennial generation. This study aims to determine the participation and literacy level of the millennial generation towards shallot farming, as well as the correlation between the participation and literacy level of the millennial generation with the characteristics of the millennial generation in SrMhd Fauzi Kamarudinigading Village. The research was conducted in Srigading Village, Sanden District, Bantul Regency. Samples were taken as many as 100 people using the proportional random sampling technique. The research uses a descriptive analysis method with a quantitative approach. Data analysis used likert scale and spearman rank correlation. The results of this study show that the millennial generation's participation in shallot farming is included in the category of active participation. The literacy level of the millennial generation towards shallot farming is included in the medium category. The correlation between participation and literacy level is interrelated. In the characteristics of the millennial generation, the higher the age of the millennial generation, the more active participation and literacy the higher. Then the higher the education of the millennial generation, the lower the participation and literacy. In the characteristics of social media, the higher the use of social media, the more active participation and literacy the higher. Thus, the higher the participation of community groups, the more active participation and literacy are.
