Research and Prospects of Synthetic Biology in the Food Field

As an interdisciplinary subject, synthetic biology creates new biological systems by designing and assembling biological components, and is widely applied in various fields. In the food industry, synthetic biology synthesizes components such as proteins and vitamins in microorganisms, replacing traditional production methods to enhance the nutritional value and production efficiency of food. Additionally, synthetic biology is used to produce biodegradable food packaging materials, reducing plastic pollution and promoting sustainable development. This paper forecasts the application prospects and challenges of synthetic biology in food production, believing that synthetic biology brings potential for sustainable development to the food industry and promotes food innovation and environmental protection.
